  • Helpful, but a little out of touch

I really appreciate all the helpful insight and resources offered by your podcast, but I feel it’s often missing the mark as the current job market is so fraught with unique challenges that are not always reflected in your conversations. I’d like to see less subjective advice and more concrete tips about how to survive and navigate the current economic reality in 2026.

  • Disappointed😔

Just disappointed by your guest Nikki Schutte!

    Quote:

“It’s really hard to get to know somebody through a first interview or even a second or third interview. And I think that we all want to rely on things that help us make the right decision … [by] another interaction that somebody might have had with that person.”

If that’s the case, then please tell the thousands of job seekers why post the job online and make us go through the entire process of resume submission, screening, and multiple ... more

  • In my top 10 of career podcasts

Although I still believe that the “dream job” is a myth, listening to this podcast is helping me dream of a great a job and a purposeful career. Each episode has an encouraging perspective. Mac also has a great voice for radio. His voice reminds me of Casey Kasem, which is soothing and nostalgic for me.

How to Future Proof Your Career in the Age of AI, with Marguerite McAleer
Q: Why are skills increasingly prioritized over credentials in the AI era?
Because technology evolves rapidly in short cycles, a degree earned long ago may not reflect current abilities; employers want verifiable, transferable skills and evidence of impact.

Q: How can candidates use AI effectively without losing the human touch?
Use AI to prototype resumes or cover letters, but always tailor and humanize the content, targeting the right roles and inserting authentic, story-driven evidence of impact.
How to Future Proof Your Career in the Age of AI, with Marguerite McAleer
Q: What kinds of jobs are facing the most change from AI right now?
Jobs with routine and repetitive tasks are most affected, but AI is also creating new, skills-based roles and opportunities like AI coaches and ethics coaches, which require upskilling and adaptability.
How to Use AI To Identify Your Strengths, with Shannon Bowen
Q: What are practical beginner steps to use AI for identifying and presenting strengths?
Use prompts to pull out strengths from a specific success story, generate concise resume bullets with strong verbs and measurable outcomes, and test the AI outputs against job descriptions to ensure keyword alignment while keeping a human voice.
How to Use AI To Identify Your Strengths, with Shannon Bowen
Q: How specific should you be about your strengths when talking to employers?
Be very specific and concrete, focusing on how your strengths translate into outcomes and fit the job; avoid vague statements and show how your strengths align with the role.
