  • Ehhh

Some cons: Jimmy’s obsession with Deb gets a tad annoying. She’s nothing special. Pros: was Rauce until iHeart made an awful decision.

  • Great before Rauce left

Was 5 stars before Rauce left. The rest of the cast is great, but like a bar stool, it needs four legs to be enjoyable.

  • JCS is the best on the radio

I started listening to WTKS/Real Radio 1041 .1 second 1993 with Jim Phillips and Clyde Thomas. Monster started Saturday mornings I heard they’re very first show and haven’t stop listening until I move back to Michigan. Discovered them on Xm and then XM went away and thank God for iHeart. Our Jimmy Guyton show and it’s the best thing on the station in my opinion I also love the news junkie and monsters Tom and Dan and Real Laughs. thank you iHeart now if we could just get the timing to where it m... more

  • I really like this show

I was first introduced to Jim many decades ago when I accidentally found the Monsters On XM back in the early days of satellite radio and found him to be the voice of reason (most of the time) to all the insanity of the show. His voice and cadence keep the listener interested in the show if that makes any sense. I drive for a living and use podcasts to help pass the time and this is now my favorite and first to download daily.

Jim and the crew keep the conversation flowing without degrading on... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

JCS: Jim Fails The 'Tofu Test' 5/18/2026
Q: What is the tofu test and why does it matter in dating culture?
The hosts explain that the tofu test is a dating heuristic where a person orders tofu to gauge their date's reaction, using the response as a proxy for attitudes toward gender roles and masculinity; while some see it as revealing, others view it as an extreme or silly measure.
Daddy Help Me Reach the Bourbon
Q: Should the person who books a group trip get the master bedroom?
The hosts discuss and largely lean toward booking priority being acceptable if agreed upon upfront, but also note the potential for resentment if not communicated early, suggesting clear expectations before the trip.
Honey, Where Did You Put The Driveway?
Q: Do you think having a high school diploma matters in 2026?
Most argue that while a diploma can be less determinative due to AI and evolving job requirements, foundational skills like writing and communication remain valuable; some guests point to examples of successful people without diplomas, but overall there is continued recognition of the diploma's value depending on the job.
What’s In a Name?
Q: What are your thoughts on AI safeguards and responsibility in light of the ChatGPT case?
The hosts discuss that safeguards exist, but there is debate about how much responsibility the AI itself bears versus the developers and users, with concerns about escalating harms and accountability in high-stakes scenarios.
Mel Taylor Day!
Q: How do you establish trust when selecting a financial advisor?
Trust is built over time through listening first, avoiding the hard sell, and showing consistent, transparent behavior; referrals and long-tenured client relationships help prove reliability.
