  • My favourite basketball podcast

I follow some other hoops podcasts but Jason’s podcast has become my favourite because of the detailed breakdown I enjoy as being a competitive player myself.

Maybe a bit intense for some casual listeners, but hardcore hoopers will love this show.

  • Great show

This show isn’t for fans of hot take machines nor stat nerds. Jason knows basketball but he presents his vast knowledge in a way that’s relatable and engaging.

  • Great analysis, bad show

Jason is a pretty great analyst with good insights (when his LeBron fandom doesn’t take over). But the amount of ads per episode is pretty unbearable. And also I think the episodes are put out, and then split up into smaller fragments to be put out again later, which works on youtube but not in podcasts(reeks of greed in this platform imo). Also it’s normally like a day or 2 behind the youtube uploads, which is where I normally watch the show and recommend that over this podcast. I’m unfollowing... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

GAME 3 REACTIONS: Wemby & Spurs BIG win vs Edwards & Wolves + Brunson, Knicks take 3-0 lead vs 76ers
Q: What adjustments should teams consider against the Lakers-style double teams on Shea?
The discussion highlighted that catch-and-shoot opportunities and patient ball movement are key, with teams needing to exploit the spaces created by doubles while not overreacting to pressure—OKC has to continue finding unguarded looks and pace to disrupt double-teams rather than getting stuck in the trap.
GAME 2 REACTIONS: Wemby & Spurs CRUSH Ant Edwards & Wolves + Brunson & Knicks up 2-0 on Maxey, 76ers
Q: What adjustments are most critical if Embiid is out for the next game?
Emphasize switching to reduce exposure to mismatches, leverage a faster pace with barlow/bona, and rely on perimeter pressure to generate advantages while keeping cat closer to the paint when Embiid is absent.
GAME 2 REACTIONS: Wemby & Spurs CRUSH Ant Edwards & Wolves + Brunson & Knicks up 2-0 on Maxey, 76ers
Q: How should officiating handle the off-arm push-offs and similar moves without killing the flow of the game?
The stance is for less whistles overall, but with targeted attention to legitimate fouls or gimmicky grifting plays; the goal is to preserve flow while not rewarding obvious illegal contacts.
GAME 2 REACTIONS: SGA, Thunder pull away vs LeBron & Lakers + Cade & Pistons up 2-0 on Harden & Cavs
Q: What do you think is the main reason LeBron's Lakers could not seal the game against OKC?
The main factor was OKC's ability to stay competitive through elite talent like Shai and Holmgren, plus Lakers' turnovers at critical moments which allowed OKC to maintain a gap late in the game.
GAME 6 REACTIONS: LeBron & Lakers eliminate Rockets, Pistons STUN Magic, Raptors force game 7 v Cavs
Q: What changed for the Lakers between game six and earlier games against Houston?
A sharper, more intentional offensive approach combined with stronger defensive rotations and rebounding, plus LeBron's post-ups and faster transition plays that created easier looks for teammates like Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves.
