  • My favourite basketball podcast

I follow some other hoops podcasts but Jason’s podcast has become my favourite because of the detailed breakdown I enjoy as being a competitive player myself.

Maybe a bit intense for some casual listeners, but hardcore hoopers will love this show.

  • Great show

This show isn’t for fans of hot take machines nor stat nerds. Jason knows basketball but he presents his vast knowledge in a way that’s relatable and engaging.

  • Great analysis, bad show

Jason is a pretty great analyst with good insights (when his LeBron fandom doesn’t take over). But the amount of ads per episode is pretty unbearable. And also I think the episodes are put out, and then split up into smaller fragments to be put out again later, which works on youtube but not in podcasts(reeks of greed in this platform imo). Also it’s normally like a day or 2 behind the youtube uploads, which is where I normally watch the show and recommend that over this podcast. I’m unfollowing... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Knicks & Spurs PATHS TO VICTORY in NBA Finals | w/ Sam Vecenie
Q: What is the Knicks' biggest advantage or strength in this series?
The Knicks' offense is highly versatile and space-oriented, capable of switching between Brunson isolation, Towns initiations, and off-ball movement to exploit mismatches, with elite playmaking from Towns and multi-position defense anchored by Anunoby and Bridges.
Knicks & Spurs PATHS TO VICTORY in NBA Finals | w/ Sam Vecenie
Q: How are the Spurs going to score without Wemby on the floor?
Vecenie outlines that without Wemby, San Antonio must lean on perimeter-driven spacing, off-ball actions to free up driving lanes, and internal ball-screen diversity to generate looks; they will rely on the other young guards and bigs to create with drive-and-kick and backdoor cuts, while Towns and other Knicks defenders adjust to non-Wemby minutes.
THUNDER-SPURS GAME 7 REACTION: Wembanyama & Castle win EPIC game vs. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Q: What are the implications for the West and the parity in the league moving forward?
The discussion framed the series as signaling the end of a parody era, with the Spurs and Thunder positioned to contend for several years due to depth and young talent. It also explored how injuries and rookie-scale contracts could shape the league's balance, suggesting a potential Spurs/Thunder dominance for the near term while acknowledging the unpredictability of the draft and offseason moves.
THUNDER-SPURS GAME 7 REACTION: Wembanyama & Castle win EPIC game vs. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Q: Should OKC consider trading Chet Holmgren after this series, given his rough showings and the matchup with Wembanyama?
The hosts argued against trading Chet Holmgren, noting his general value against most teams and emphasizing that Victor is a unique problem. They suggested roster moves to better complement Chet, such as adding a big physical forward and optimizing fit around Wembanyama rather than disposing of Holmgren.
THUNDER-SPURS GAME 7 REACTION: Wembanyama & Castle win EPIC game vs. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Q: What did the host think about Shai's performance in the third and fourth quarters, and could his game evolve to counter the Spurs' coverage?
Shai delivered a spectacular half in the first, but struggled to sustain that level in the second, as San Antonio's defense forced him into tougher, more contested shots. The host suggested Shai should add diversity to his shot locations and off-ball movement to prevent defenses from predicting his actions and to improve his efficiency in the playoffs.
