  • No longer working in silence

I used listen to music while I worked in my studio and then for some reason the last 10 years I just preferred silence. My husband recommended podcasts, but there wasn't a single one that stuck. Until this one! Love getting into my studio to work and listen to these guys: funny, informative, relatable. Finally found my people!

  • Wish there was less bro chit chat

This show has some useful bits but unfortunately the hosts seem to forget there’s an audience on the other end.

  • Tons of fun, with a heap of solid info

This podcast is in my top five. Will and Douglas know how to dig into the juice of the traveling artist’s life. It’s a joy to listen to, and it really helps pass the time while driving to a show or mowing the lawn. I can tell you I hate mowing the lawn so this is a real savior. Thanks Will and Douglas, I’m hooked!

  • Great guys, great chats and great insights into the Art Show world

So easy to listen to Doug and Will, such light and engaging commentary - they are my road companions on the way to the next show! Also great for me as a photographer to hear about the other worlds of fellow artists.

Q: How do you overcome the language barrier after immigrating?
My husband helped me communicate as he speaks Latvian, and it was very difficult to understand at first.

I'm doing pretty well and recovering from the shoulder replacement surgery.
How I See The World/ Cali Hobgood
Q: Have experiences like that affected what you're going to make or what you're going to say, or have you stayed true to your voice?
Oh, absolutely, truer than ever. Although I'll tell you, there was a time four years ago, during COVID...
How I See The World/ Cali Hobgood
Q: So did he have words with you or some issues that he took up with you?
Yes. And I stepped forward and then I stepped back. I left the back of my booth and I went to find an officer.
How I See The World/ Cali Hobgood
Q: Can we talk about the coat hanger and how that resonated with you?
Sure. It came to me in my mind the same way all of my images do. It's as if I have a slide projection screen in the back of my brain.
