  • Audio Quality

Megan is really hard to understand and it makes the podcasts hard to listen to. The difference between Rob and Megan makes it a tough listening experience unfortunately because the content is pretty good.

  • Not a good listening experience

Megan’s voice trails off at the end of most of her sentences. As a result, much of what she has to say is unintelligible. She basically mumbles her way through the show.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Collective Bargaining Discussions | The Her Hoop Stats Podcast
Q: What are the practical implications for foreign players and mid-season signings?
Foreign players can enter the league with competitive salaries, and late-season signings can be accommodated if a team has space, particularly by cutting non-guaranteed contracts. The cap rules incentivize teams with space to pursue impactful mid-season acquisitions to chase championships.
Collective Bargaining Discussions | The Her Hoop Stats Podcast
Q: How will the new cap structure and development player rules affect team-building in training camp?
Teams will operate with a fixed 12-player roster limit, which reduces the need to juggle extra bodies and simplifies cap planning. Development players receive a base stipend plus housing and other benefits, with prorated pay when called up, which should help teams manage costs while developing talent.
Collective Bargaining Discussions | The Her Hoop Stats Podcast
Q: What are the key highlights of the new CBA, and which provisions stood out to you as most impactful?
The most prominent changes include significantly higher reported salaries, the introduction of a retrospective rookie scale tied to the new CBA, and new contract options like signing a percentage of the cap. There's also a new season-ending injury replacement rule that allows a one-for-one substitution, and buyouts now count toward the salary cap, making cap management more transparent and strategic.
Court Queens with Emma Baccellieri | The Her Hoop Stats Podcast
Q: What role does modern media and current stars play in sustaining interest in women's basketball?
Emma emphasizes the huge impact of social media and star players in building direct fan connections, sponsorships, and cross-generational interest that helps ensure a sustainable future for the sport.
Court Queens with Emma Baccellieri | The Her Hoop Stats Podcast
Q: Why publish now around the 30th anniversary of the WNBA, and what does that timing bring to readers?
The guests describe it as a happy accident that the timing aligns with the league's growth, providing a meaningful hook to connect historical context with the contemporary game and its expanding visibility.
