Just two comments re fever / mercury discussion and Cindy’s comments:

What I see as a fever fan (showing my bias) is that the Fever fans and most importantly the team were incredibly hurt last year that DB walked away without an explanation. DB missed an opportunity to be a professional and an adult to have the courtesy and decency to say goodbye and give at least the team a reason why she quit.

I do not want to know what happened at all. Actions on her part shouted a whole lot more than word... more

  • Audio Quality

Megan is really hard to understand and it makes the podcasts hard to listen to. The difference between Rob and Megan makes it a tough listening experience unfortunately because the content is pretty good.

  • Not a good listening experience

Megan’s voice trails off at the end of most of her sentences. As a result, much of what she has to say is unintelligible. She basically mumbles her way through the show.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Burdened and Defensive | The Her Hoop Stats Podcast
Q: Is Kelsey Plum carrying the Sparks, or is there enough support around her?
Plum is clearly the focal point, but the roster was built to support her; however, the protection of teammates like Ariel Atkins and the underperformance of others means Plum carries a heavy load unless others step up.
Burdened and Defensive | The Her Hoop Stats Podcast
Q: What do you think about extending the WNBA season to 50 games next year?
The consensus is that it's sensible with more teams, but the real question is the footprint, schedule spacing, and whether it can avoid overly long seasons that would hurt players and fan attention. There's particular concern about extending into October and November.
Ballhalla Buzzing | The Her Hoop Stats Podcast
Q: What else has impressed you about the Sparks when they're firing on all cylinders?
Yeah, when they're scoring and cohesively on the floor, they can be one of the best offensive teams in the league, especially with Cameron Brink increasing his confidence and Ariel Atkins contributing on both ends.
Ballhalla Buzzing | The Her Hoop Stats Podcast
Q: Where can people find you to read you and research what they want to know about the Valkyries?
Well, I'm on Her Hoop Stats once a week writing about the WNBA.
Collective Bargaining Discussions | The Her Hoop Stats Podcast
Q: What are the practical implications for foreign players and mid-season signings?
Foreign players can enter the league with competitive salaries, and late-season signings can be accommodated if a team has space, particularly by cutting non-guaranteed contracts. The cap rules incentivize teams with space to pursue impactful mid-season acquisitions to chase championships.
