The dialogue and acting feels Extremely Gen Z, in that some characters who are supposed to be in their early-mid 20s seem like 18 year olds; one of the supporting characters apologizes constantly, which feels pretty true to life for someone with so much insecurity. The main actor portrays the emotion of their situation well enough in stream-of-consciousness monologues; the Tragic Disappearance angle makes it almost believable that this person hasn't moved on from her high school girlfriend of fo... more
i just started listening and im so enthralled!! im messing up my podcast schedule just to binge listen to the heart of ether
This podcast is almost impossible to hear, which pretty much defeats its purpose.
Surprisingly engaging and spare first-person narrative. Neither over-produced and forced, nor amateurish, the story unfolds in an authentic stream-of-consciousness manner. If there are any sound effects I must’ve missed them.
Equal parts charming and heart-wrenching, The Heart of Ether stands out because of the depth (in writing and acting) of its characters. I love them all, and can't wait to see their relationships continue to grow. The layers of mystery are intriguing as well, deftly guiding the listener while keeping them just a bit off-balance.

I've only listened to half of the first season, but I'm loving the story, music, and characters of the Heart of Either. I can't wait to see where this story goes next!
This is such a great podcast, and I’m really interested in where the story goes!! If you’re a fan of podcasts like the Magnus archives, the bright sessions, or Alice isn’t dead, I would definitely recommend this podcast.
I really like this podcast so far and am excited for what will happen next, but it’s really hard to understand in some places. Some scenes have a lot of white noise in the background, and I get that it’s supposed to make the recordings more realistic but it’s hard to hear what the characters are saying, and the parts where there is music with lyrics on top of the dialogue makes it impossible to understand, which is a bummer because I enjoy the dialogue a lot so far.
The production quality, soundscaping, writing, and acting is ALL so amazing!! Can't wait to see where the story progresses to.
