  • Great content but TERRIBLE sound

Some really great content especially his Interview with the naturopathic Doctor Who specializes in SIBO.

But he really needs to correct the sound problem. If you have it at a volume level where his voice is not too loud, you cannot hear his guests. So you have to sit there holding your phone adjusting the volume up when they talk to him him and down when he talks. And it’s still not perfect because the gas audio is not as well integrated into his electronics as it should be.

Heartburn Myths with Dan Lister, MD
Q: Is surgery really the last resort for reflux, or can it be considered earlier based on individual risk and anatomy?
Surgery is not necessarily the last resort; it depends on risk-benefit considerations, anatomy, and patient goals, with modern techniques avoiding overly aggressive wraps and focusing on effective valve function.
Heartburn Myths with Dan Lister, MD
Q: Let's start with the basics. A lot of people think heartburn is simply acid reflux, but that's not the whole story, right?
Reflux includes movement of stomach contents and acid and can cause issues beyond burning, including respiratory and dental problems, so heartburn is just one aspect of a broader reflux spectrum.
Diet and Colon Cancer with Michael Bass, MD
Q: How is Viome's approach to gut microbiome testing different, and how can it inform dietary choices?
Viome emphasizes RNA-based testing to understand the function of the gut microbiome, enabling personalized dietary recommendations based on what foods actually affect an individual's gut biology, moving beyond generic guidance.
Diet and Colon Cancer with Michael Bass, MD
Q: How do access and real-world constraints impact the ability to follow healthier diets?
Access, cost, and work/school constraints significantly shape what people can realistically eat; policies that improve access to healthy foods in stores and schools can have a meaningful impact on population health.
Diet and Colon Cancer with Michael Bass, MD
Q: What practical dietary strategies do you recommend to lower colon cancer risk?
Adopt a Mediterranean-style pattern emphasizing fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, lentils, healthy fats, and lean protein, while limiting red meat and ultra-processed foods; start with small, sustainable changes such as choosing whole foods for one meal a day and gradually expanding.
