I started with episode 8 on virtual church. Great episode! Really great points about how we are the church TOGETHER. Virtual church can never substitute the gathering of the corporate body. You guys were easy to listen to and the discussion was easy to follow. I subscribed and I plan to share Shane’s “what is the church?” article.

Pretty amazing the things that can happen when a few pastors and some laymen get together, seek God, and deep dive into foundational truths of the Gospel.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Even More Q&A: 5 Year Anniversary! Polygamy? Adam's Free Will? Revival?
Q: Why is polygamy not explicitly denounced in scripture?
While scripture does not explicitly forbid polygamy, it presents it as problematic through the consequences seen in biblical narratives. The hosts note that God's design from the beginning was one man, one woman, establishing a principle that polygamy is not in line with biblical teaching.
Even More Q&A: 5 Year Anniversary! Polygamy? Adam's Free Will? Revival?
Q: How optimistic should we be about another awakening or revival in our generation?
The speakers express optimism about revival based on the promise of God that He will build His church, emphasizing the importance of faithfulness in preaching the word rather than relying on emotional experiences or political movements.
Even More Q&A: 5 Year Anniversary! Polygamy? Adam's Free Will? Revival?
Q: If Adam didn't have original sin, why did he choose evil over good?
The discussion notes that Adam was created with the ability to choose good or evil, and while he initially obeyed God, he ultimately succumbed to temptation, which came from outside himself. This contrasts with humanity today, who are born in sin and can only choose evil until conversion.
More Q&A: Am I a Christian? Joining a church with different doctrine?
Q: At what point would it be advisable to not join a specific local body if you disagree on various doctrines or practices, especially if debatable?
One should not join a church where they cannot submit to the elders' teaching, especially on first-order doctrines, while being open to differences on second-order doctrines.
More Q&A: Am I a Christian? Joining a church with different doctrine?
Q: Why is it wrong to say, you must accept Jesus as Lord and let him into your heart?
This language is unbiblical; instead, the focus should be on repenting and believing in the Gospel as taught in Scripture.
