  • Thanks for the encouragement and tips

I had to work a little to find help with this topic, and appreciate the short, focused episodes. Some are more useful than others at different ages, so I find it works best to browse through the archive and find episodes most relevant to where you are.

  • Good EC info but stay on topic please

I like the EC information shared on the podcast. I do wish the podcast stayed on topic. I don’t like the anti vax misinformation or the sleep training stuff. I come to this podcast to learn about EC, and I wish they’d just stick with that.

  • Texas momma

First of all I just found this thing scrolling for hours of trash, second of all Texas momma are one of the people that think everyone should get the vaccine and wear masks 24/7. That’s just her opinion. And I can tell you, as a person with asthma, wearing a mask all day is NOT GOOD.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#115 Balancing Work, Life, + EC (guest post)
Q: My question for you, which of these tips stood out most to you and how might it make your work life balance a little easier?
Natalie Robbins emphasizes being present during potty opportunities and aligning EC with the caregiver's rhythm, which helps maintain bonding while still allowing work to proceed. She notes that setting realistic expectations and using consistent potty opportunities reduces stress and improves long-term EC awareness, even if not every moment is perfectly timed.
#116 Potty Location
Q: I potty my three and a half month old all over the place.
This is common at early ages; at three and a half months the brain isn't yet capable of long-term, repetitive task planning, so you don't need to fixate on a single location yet. You can gradually steer toward a consistent bathroom spot once crawling begins, and keep a nearby potty if the bathroom is not always accessible. The key is maintaining flexibility early on and staying responsive to your baby's signals while keeping routines practical and least disruptive at night.
#112 Separation Anxiety
Q: What can Jeremy and other parents do to manage separation anxiety during potty time without derailing their EC practice?
Andrea suggests sticking with the methods that work (like keeping the baby in arms when it's still effective), using temporary outdoor options during the anxious phase, incorporating a potty cozy to increase comfort, reducing the number of daily potty opportunities, and giving the baby moments of privacy to feel secure. The goal is to be patient, non-coercive, and to transition gradually as the child becomes more independent.
#99 EC + Pregnancy
Q: Have you done EC while pregnant? What are your best tips?
Listeners are encouraged to share their experiences and effective strategies for managing elimination communication while pregnant.
#36 A camel
Q: Have you tried EC before?
Yes, I've been trying EC for about a month and a half.
