Yay! I’m glad Andy is sharing this with the world! I love his British accent and more importantly his thoughtful insights. I Love how he often mixes in songs to his episodes.

  • Very interesting podcast!

So I just found this podcast but Andy’s style is very slow and relatable. It is definitely needed in a world that says you have to do this and do that. Almost the cross between a philosopher and counselor. Listen to this show if you want to take a break from the noise of this world and take a breath of fresh air.

No Missing Parts (with Justin Sunseri)
Q: For those unfamiliar, what does pendulation mean in practice?
Pendulation means consciously and intentionally shifting attention between safe, regulated feelings and more challenging states like grief or fear, then returning to safety, in a back-and-forth cycle that helps the nervous system learn to move between activation and rest.
A Book For Sensitive Children (with Judith Orloff)
Q: What inspired you to write a children's book about sensitivity?
Judith explains her shift from adult-focused empathy guides to a children's book intended to normalize sensitivity, empower parents and educators, and provide practical tools that help sensitive children feel seen and supported.
The Challenges of Measuring High Sensitivity (with Andrew May)
Q: Is high sensitivity the same as autism?
Andrew explains that high sensitivity and autism can co-occur and may appear similar under stress, but the core distinction lies in theory of mind and social understanding; highly sensitive people tend to be naturally empathetic and understand others' thoughts and feelings, while autism involves different social processing challenges. He also notes overlaps with ADHD and giftedness and emphasizes seeking professional assessment when there is uncertainty.
David Bowie’s Search for Life, Death and God (with Peter Ormerod)
Q: What is the spiritual foundation of David Bowie, and how is it different from contemporary spirituality?
Bowie's spirituality, as described by the guest, is a deep, sustained engagement that transcends conventional organized religion and resists a simple label; it is an ongoing searching that informs both his life and art, not a settled creed. It emphasizes love, presence, and a broader, less doctrinal understanding of spirituality.
Afraid of Giving Credit? The Vicious Cycle of Status Insecurity
Q: Have you ever felt this pressure maybe to prove your worth or status in some way?
The reflections on personal experiences regarding the pressure to validate one's worth highlight how such feelings can manifest in various social contexts.
