This podcast and the one before it, The Gatekeepers, are two of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Both have been carefully researched, and the narrators/producers have made an honest effort to stay objective. For me, while I lived the reality of the time periods discussed in these podcasts, I couldn’t see the forest for the trees. These podcasts have helped me to connect the dots and better understand social media, politics, laws, AI, etc.
A really interesting listen. Well researched and produced. Sometimes depressing and frustrating to hear about the fakery all around us, but better to be informed and aware.
“Everything is Fake” is amongst the most important podcasts of the moment.
We really do live in George Costanza’s world now.

A sharp, multi-episode examination of how fakery is rewarded in contemporary life across business, media, academia, and technology. Topics range from contract cheating in universities and rating-agency narratives to Silicon Valley hoaxes and the ethics of AI-assisted storytelling, all tying back to a broader pattern: incentives shape belief and trust in public life. The show often features high-profile thinkers and insiders to unpack how hype, spectacle, and performance influence decision-making, governance, and culture. It's likely to appeal to listeners who enjoy evidence-driven analysis of ethics, technology, and media, with a penchant for careful nuance over sensationalism and a willingness to question received narratives.
