  • Excellent

Only became interested in gardening in the last few years and came across this podcast very recently. It's now a part of my weekend routine, listening to both shows over the weekend. Graham's knowledge is vast and really helpful.

I have been really enjoying your garden show for quite a while now and find it very informative and beneficial..

HOWEVER I have noticed advertising of TV series etc creeping into the show. I don’t mind garden related ads but I’m not interested in TV shows AT ALL and this defeats the purpose of why I choose to escape with a good podcast. Please try to keep to the topic of gardens πŸͺ΄ Cheers.

Q: How can I help you out there at Penrith?
Graham provides tailored garden advice, starting with weed management and microclimate considerations, then moves to seasonal pruning and soil preparation.
The Garden Clinic – Full show Sunday May 17 2026
Q: What should I do about curl grubs and fruit flies in spring?
Use a multi-pronged approach: combine lures that attract both male and female fruit flies with sticky traps, and consider insecticides as part of a broader program; also treat lawns in spring and monitor with soil checks. For curl grubs, use appropriate lawn treatments and consider spring timing for preventive products.
Ross Campbell (Camellias)
Q: What knowledge are you passing on to people for the very first time and they walk into the nursery?
Ross describes guiding newcomers by first assessing sun exposure or shade, soil, and space to prevent overwhelm and help narrow choices to a realistic number.
The Garden Clinic – Full show Sunday May 10 2026
Q: What inspires you most about the knowledge handed down in the Camellia Grove family business?
Ross Campbell highlights the continuity of a family tradition spanning generations, the depth of practical knowledge, and the belief that a plant's value comes from a combination of history, culture, and the right growing conditions.
Paul Sheehan (Victa)
Q: How did Briggs & Stratton feel about the approach?
Briggs & Stratton were looking to offload the Victa brand; they were open to negotiations and the deal progressed over many months, leading to a favorable outcome for returning the brand to Australian ownership.
