  • Move on

If you listen to the first season you basically get it all. The fourth season they rehash over and over the same information. They should move on to solving other lost children or at least going over their cases.

  • Meandering

I really wanted to love this podcast. I had some knowledge of the story and I wanted to know more, but I abandoned it halfway through. I found it to be confusing in the extreme, the timeline was impossible to follow, the various characters and family ties weren’t properly explained, and the experts went off on tangents that were irrelevant to the story. Also, the production values aren’t good - there are phone calls where voices aren’t clear and the volume control is all over the place. Plus l I... more

  • Speculation & Theory

Truly amazing story but the third season of the podcast is a lot of speculation and theory. It’s unnecessary to put more drama on a story that doesn’t need it especially when not factual. Also feels judgmental. Paul talks about the story as if it’s not his. I’m unsure of his relationship with his adoptive family but at times seems disrespectful to them.

  • Unfair judgements

The story is very interesting. I’m frustrated by the constant judgment in this podcast. It repeatedly assigns motives and attitudes to people—often poor, uneducated, and long deceased—who can’t speak for themselves. Statements like “she didn’t care what they put in the newspaper about her, she just

kept on stealing” goes beyond the historical record and into speculation.

We don’t know what she thought or felt, or what circumstances shaped her actions. Present the facts that are documented, bu... more
