Famously, the enduring appeal of 84, Charing Cross Road rests on its correspondence between an American TV-writing woman and a British bookseller. But what if the slim volume's real power comes mostly just from the independent, iconoclastic, sassy an... more
Much has been made of Nelio Biedermann's wunderkind status. And there are plenty of reasons people are calling his debut novel "virtuousic" and "astonishing." It was SO fun to look at why much of this novel really worked, and why much of it . . . d... more

Absolutely loved the lecture on vigil by George Saunders. The points made were so resident, especially with the audiobook narration style being very distracting and single note themes being somewhat less than expected from this brilliant and soulful author. Kimberly's critique made me feel sane.
This is currently my favorite podcast! I’ve been picking books to read based on episodes available and it’s added a lot to my enjoyment of reading.
It’s the podcast I ever listened to.She adds all of her own politics into her retelling of the story.Believe what you want but kill the story with your bias it comes off stupid and self serving.
Just when I think I have have a good understanding of a text Kimberly reminds me there is so much more to uncover! I learn something new with every podcast and have such a deeper understanding of some amazing novels! Love this podcast!
I enjoy the analysis and insights so much, but I am so distracted by the phrase “sort of” being said so frequently. It takes me out of the otherwise good work. Thank you!
