Welcome to Stories from the First Watch. This is both a solo roleplaying game and an experiment in audio storytelling. The story, and the characters’ actions, will unfold upon the roll of the dice. Once the game starts, nothing is predetermined. The dice are in control.

Really enjoy the ground up approach to playing D&D solo!
Stories From the First Watch is a real love-letter to old-school gaming, and of all the 'hybrid' style audiodrama/actualplays out there, this one might be the most faithful to a real game of D&D. Robin does a tremendous job of keeping the action and the story moving without ever letting you know that there is a guiding hand at the wheel. Outstanding!
A fantastic solo actual play podcast, which is one of my must-listens! SftFW evokes the wonder and joy I felt playing RPGs back in the day. Its creator, Robin, weaves a compelling narrative while at the mercy of the dice. His characters are believable and well-formed, which had me vested in their fate right from the start. Thoroughly recommended!
Solo game master Robin has been weaving this intricate epic for 30 months at time of this review. It's one of my must-listens and I'm still amazed at the twists and turns in the yarn. Add to that frequent summary episodes and great thematic music and you have a winner!
