  • A Literary Rabbit Hole

If you ever perused the Appendix N of the original Dungeon Masters Guide back in the day, this podcast is for you. Be warned - you will spend a lot of time reading the books that inspired Gary Gygax. Luckily you don’t have to scour the 2nd book stores for these tomes, you can get a lot of them as PDFs from Amazon, Open Library and Project Gutenberg.

  • Brilliant

Just a brilliant combination of genre lit and RPG discussion. An intelligent discussion of some of the fascinating roots of our hobby and a TON of interesting guests to chew it over with. Good pointers for what to read… and sometimes what not to!

I love the tone, the subject matter, the format, and the way this podcast inspires me to read works I might not have read otherwise because I want to "unlock" episodes. I'm a maniac who has to read the book before listening, but let me tell you it's possible to enjoy most episodes even if you haven't, because of course the discussion isn't about the book's plot so much as the many interesting issues related to writing and g... more
