  • Boring

Was hoping this was going to be a good podcast, but there is too much BS chit chat, and no structure

  • A genius mix

Take one part mechanical engineer, three parts the only podcast network in this space and four parts heavy equipment manufacturer and what do you get? A show that’s informative, valuable, humorous, and insightful. Whoever put Jordan together with the Caterpillar crew was a genius. More please!

  • Wrong about Caterpillar, but right about listening

I always thought of Caterpillar as just the company that made bulldozers. I had no idea they had so much domain expertise in their ranks. Jordan and her Cat cohosts do a great job of explaining how different parts of the oil and gas industry work (the petrochemical episode is a perfect example). Highly recommend that you listen!

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Environmentally Friendly High Performance Land Drilling | Ep 119
Q: Where is Pace-X Ultra currently deployed and where is it headed next?
It has been deployed in South Texas for a major operator and is planned for broader deployment into the Middle East to address tougher drilling environments.
Environmentally Friendly High Performance Land Drilling | Ep 119
Q: How does the dual-fuel capability affect costs and emissions?
DGB enables blending natural gas from the wellhead with diesel, reducing diesel use, cutting emissions, and lowering total cost of ownership due to cheaper fuel and less need for new engines.
Environmentally Friendly High Performance Land Drilling | Ep 119
Q: What makes Pace-X Ultra different from earlier Nabors rigs?
It combines higher horsepower, higher pressure capabilities (10,000 psi), and a modular, upgradeable design that allows upgrading existing 3512C engines to the DGB dual-fuel system, delivering higher efficiency without replacing the whole fleet.
Matt Rayson on Autonomy & Digital Oilfield Solutions | Ep. 129
Q: How has Caterpillar's customer conversation evolved from when Matt started to now?
Conversations have become more vocal and sophisticated; customers increasingly demand integrated solutions, not just individual components, and the company emphasizes listening to outcomes they want to achieve and partnering with dealers to deliver those outcomes.
Chris Combs on AI Power & Grid Constraints | Ep. 128
Q: Five years from now, what does the energy model look like for high-demand users and is a decentralized system likely?
The infrastructure for electricity will be under more strain as data centers proliferate, so behind-the-meter generation and hybrid power platforms will be central; the trend toward decentralized or distributed solutions will grow out of necessity to guarantee power.
