  • News from AEVA - information workshops

“AEVA now runs its popular ACT workshops nationally via Zoom. These are free for non-members and very reasonably priced at $22 for non-members. Please let EV-curious friends and family know about the workshop. In two hours, we pack in almost everything you need to know as an EV owner. We are starting to see more and more people coming to the workshop who have either not yet bought an EV or have one on order. This is the way to go! Registrations essential here.

  • Confused and irrelevant

Quite a confused podcast I think. In general though, I doubt whether V2G will ever take off in Australia. People have little trust in power companies and our FIT is terrible. I think

Most people feel that suppliers would regularly drain our cars without any benefit to me. V2L and V2H will work though.

Batteries on wheels: How close is V2G in Australia?
Q: Could you just give a baseline definition of what vehicle-to-grid is?
It's basically using your vehicle like a home battery, on wheels, able to supply energy back to your home or the grid, helping lower energy bills and potentially generating income by selling energy back.
Apartment EV charging moves from theory to reality
Q: What's the role of Arenas Driving the Nation funding in these deployments?
The funding acts as a catalyst, providing validation and a time-bound window to accelerate proposals, while enabling a broader rollout and real-world testing across multiple building types.
Apartment EV charging moves from theory to reality
Q: How does the Sierra Hawthorne project demonstrate the model in practice?
The project installed 253 charge points across 241 apartments, leveraging private car spaces and building-owned hardware, with residents paying a small per-kilowatt fee and NOX handling load management and maintenance.
Apartment EV charging moves from theory to reality
Q: Can you give a quick background on NOX Energy and what you do?
NOX Energy was founded by Wiley, Matt, and Charlie and focuses on ultra-low-cost charging for home and work, with a proprietary Intelligent Power Socket that monitors and manages energy use, enabling private, affordable charging in strata and commercial settings.
Robert Llewellyn on the state of the charge
Q: Would you agree with the importance of maintaining momentum through subsidies and policy that supports the electrification of transport?
Yes, I agree that it would happen anyway, but more slowly without them.
