  • Essential Tools and Truths for Disciple Making!

The Disciple Maker's Podcast from discipleship.org serves as a potent theological and practical corrective for the contemporary church. Rather than merely offering programmatic solutions, the podcast champions a cultural shift, arguing that intentional, relational discipleship is not an anci... more

Very few resources offer the thought provoking training as this podcast. Each speaker provides a wealth of ideas to help the ordinary Christ follower to begin, develop, and sustain a strategy to be a disciple maker who makes disciple makers. The honesty about mistakes made and pitfalls to avoid are worth considering. This podcast is far more than information delivery, but a God glorifying way to recalculate priorities in life.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Discipleship Challenge: Engaging and Equipping the Church | Robby Gallety
Q: What are some key things that we need to know when we leave here, in addition to us being in the Word, but of calling people in our churches into the Word?
Robby emphasizes that churches must build structures for ongoing Bible engagement and relational discipleship, starting with worship and moving through life groups and D groups to empower ordinary believers to multiply disciples.
Successes and Slip-ups In Disciple Making | Justin Gravitt
Q: What makes the Navigators' approach unique across denominations?
They operate in agreement on major gospel and scriptural truths while partnering with churches and denominations locally and regionally, forming a bridge role rather than institutional confetti, enabling cross-denominational collaboration.
Own the Mission: Becoming a Disciple Worth Multiplying | Josh Howard
Q: Get into the difference between mentors and disciple makers.
True biblical disciple making resembles mentorship and coaching, walking with someone from one point to another and emphasizing obedience over mere knowledge.
Digital Discipleship — Using Google and the Gospel to Reach and Disciple in a Digital Age
Q: Why should digital strategies be a support to disciple makers rather than a replacement?
Because relationships and local community remain central to discipleship; digital tools should enable and augment in-person invitations and encounters, not substitute the personal invitation and relational development that happen face-to-face.
Digital Discipleship — Using Google and the Gospel to Reach and Disciple in a Digital Age
Q: How long does it typically take for someone to follow Jesus after finding your ministry online?
The speaker notes that the timeline varies by context, but emphasizes there is often a gap between initial online awareness and in-person engagement, and stresses the need for a systematic attract–engage–multiply approach to shorten that gap.
