  • Essential for Disney Cruise Line Fans—Just Wish There Was More!

I absolutely love the DCL Dude Podcast! I listened religiously before our very first Disney Cruise Line sailing in May 2024, and the advice, insights, and ship overviews helped me feel totally prepared.

Now that we've officially crossed over into Gold membership, I still tune in regularly to stay updated on new ships, itinerary changes, and tips for making the most of each cruise. The content is always thoughtful and helpful—my only complaint is that I wish there were more episodes! Every time ... more

Wes has an infectious spirit and joy that weaves through each episode. His smile can be heard as he recounts family trips on DCL and reacts to his unique guests tales their DCL vacations. His episodes are very informative for first time cruises while still being entertaining for those of us seasoned cruises who just love to revisit the DCL magic.

  • Best DCL podcast

The DCL Dude Podcast is by far the best Disney Cruise line informational podcast I’ve come across. After listening to one episode a few years back, I decided to book my first cruise on DCL with Wes. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about the process, but he makes suggestions that will get the most out of your Disney vacation. We are now on our fourth sailing and are coordinating our fifth. Thanks again Wes for everything you do.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 192: Answering your Questions!
Q: What is the best way to maximize a three-night cruise?
Focus on a few must-dos (three or four) rather than trying to do everything; go with the flow, avoid overplanning, and use downtime to relax on a veranda, watch a movie, or nap to maximize enjoyment during a short itinerary.
Episode 192: Answering your Questions!
Q: Do you think they will bring the Bluey character meet and greets to all the cruise ships?
The host suggests Bluey meet-and-greets will likely remain exclusive to certain ships (Wish and Dream) as a differentiator, without implying inside information, and recognizes it as a potential incentive for cruising on those ships.
Episode 192: Answering your Questions!
Q: What things is The Magic doing differently than The Wonder in Alaska?
The host explains that for the 2026 season, Disney will operate two ships in Alaska (The Magic and The Wonder) with similar seven-night itineraries, but with differences such as The Magic visiting Icy Strait Point instead of Juneau and a Thursday-to-Thursday schedule versus the Wonder's Monday-to-Monday schedule, which influences which itinerary a guest may choose.
Episode 187: "One Has to Go" with Dustin
Q: What motivates your top three itineraries that you haven't done yet?
He wants a Transatlantic crossing, the scenic British Isles voyage, and Singapore to experience a brand-new ship and a different part of the world, driven by long journeys and curiosity about new itineraries for Disney.
Episode 187: "One Has to Go" with Dustin
Q: How did you first get into Disney Cruise Line content creation?
Dustin explains he cruised for the first time in 2012 on the Disney Fantasy, fell in love with cruising, and eventually started a page to share his experiences with the growing Disney Cruise fan community.
