  • One of the Best Shows on Radio

Love this show. Have listened for 10 years now and will listen until Dave retires, whenever that may be. It’s a perfect mix of topics that are light and serious. They’ll talk about a trend in education, annoying neighbors, the repercussions AI has on the job market, farting on airplanes, and argue about easter eggs in movies all in the same hour. Great show with interesting topics, nuanced perspectives on important topics, and equally lively discussions on the silly topics.

  • Surface level discussions

The Dave Glover show is great for a surface level view on any topic. Dave will say that he doesn’t have any bomb throwers on. What he means is no right wing bomb throwers. I lost a lot of respect for him when he didn’t say anything to Ian Mackey came on and said Charley Kirk wanted to stone all gay people.

  • I must say that I have always enjoyed the diverse topics on the DGS. There is one person though that always speaks with such conviction that they are right but knows so little about the topic being discussed. And they will latch on to one point and keeping hammering away with that and ignoring all the other points. It does make for painful listening at times.

  • Good show aside from Wheels

Wheels is the epitome of Emphatically Wrong. When he barks others down, I have to turn the show off. I’m not sure if he or Chris R have learned anything new or had their minds changed after presented with new information since they were teenagers.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

AI photo fun, and Brad Young on Chatgpt medical advice!- h1
Q: Attorney Brad Young joins us. Hello, Brad, how are you?
Brad responds that he's doing well and plans to attend the game, then shifts to discussing the legal topic at hand and sets up the conversation about AI and medical advice.
Brad Young on the Supreme Court and socialism, and Disney adults!- h2
Q: What are your thoughts on the rise of democratic socialism and its potential impact on the Democratic Party?
Historically, when government size grows and political turmoil increases, more extreme voices gain visibility; I think the left's embrace of democratic socialism could either energize a base or complicate broader general-election prospects depending on how it is perceived by mainstream voters.
Brad Young on the Supreme Court and socialism, and Disney adults!- h2
Q: How do you view the separation of church and state in light of current debates and school policy proposals?
The First Amendment protects against establishment of a national religion while allowing respectful, context-appropriate discussion of religion; mandatory religious instruction crosses a line into establishment, whereas studying religion in a balanced, comparative way can be permissible.
Brad Young on the Supreme Court and socialism, and Disney adults!- h2
Q: Brad, could you explain the birthright citizenship issue and why the court's wording matters?
The 14th Amendment text says people born or naturalized in the United States are citizens under the jurisdiction thereof, and historically this has applied broadly; the court's interpretation hinges on the exact meaning of that clause and its historical context, which I believe supports a certain understanding of citizenship.
Full Show 7-1-26
Q: Brad, your thoughts on the birthright citizenship ruling?
Brad explains the textual and historical basis for birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment, noting that the clause about jurisdiction applies broadly, and that the ruling is unlikely to be revisited.
