  • Perfect Middle Ground

This is exactly the podcast I’ve been looking for—educational enough to make me feel like I’m learning something interesting but fun enough that I want to listen while I grocery shop and drive to work. Truly amazing that they make updates on dog food brands and caffeinated chips as fun as they do. I want to be friends with them, and I kind of feel like I am.

Keeping up with the Kardashians…CPG launches
Q: Daniel, what exactly is Update and why is Kim Kardashian connected to this relaunch?
Daniel explains the backstory of Update as a caffeine-free energy drink using a novel ingredient, paroxanthine, and shares how Kim became a highly organic partner after noticing the product's appeal and integrating it into her routines, which helped accelerate the brand's retail presence.
What wholesale data tells us about beauty & wellness
Q: What trends are you seeing in Beauty & Wellness from both the retailer and brand sides, and how should they adapt?
Trends show a dual movement where both clean beauty and science-forward ingredients rise together, with retailers stocking across both to serve a broad customer base; brands should own a clear positioning while supporting versatile messaging for retailers.

Q: Can you describe what Faire is as if you were explaining it to my mother or grandparent or somebody who might not be in this lovely ecosystem?
Faire is an online wholesale marketplace that connects independent retailers with a vast array of brands, simplifying discovery, ordering, and fulfillment while offering favorable terms like net 60 days and free returns to help small businesses thrive.
The truth about "functional" products
Q: What does regenerative mean?
Regenerative means restoring soil health, supporting fair practices, and including animals in the farming ecosystem to build a resilient, nutrient-dense food system, with ROC serving as a clean, comprehensive standard that goes beyond basic organic.
Supplement brands are lying to you.
Q: What should listeners specifically look for in life-stage targeted supplements for women?
Listeners should check if the product is truly formulated for their life stage, verify that studies (if any) match the target group (pregnant, postpartum, etc.), and scrutinize whether dosage and form align with the cited research.
