Interesting topic but found the comments about CS Lewis and his works to be offensive and disrespectful. Calling it “mumbo jumbo” and not suitable for general audiences was idiotic and inappropriate. I’m sure his friend Tolkein would have thought the same. Though he didn’t like allegory he would not have disrespected Lewis for using a different genre from his own.
Dear lord how could those who know so little think of having a podcast? Any casual fan knows who Beregond is. These two fools haven’t a clue. Would it kill them to doing a little homework, any homework, before recording a show. If you enjoy listening to babbling ignorant lazy fools this show is for you.
Great stuff - I’m a Tolkien novice and really enjoyed this as an accompaniment to the Rings of Power TV Show and then beyond. I tried out a few other RoP podcasts first and couldn’t get into them either because they were too dry or the presenters had no natural chemistry. However, these two are GENUINELY funny and the podcast is well positioned to have something for the layman and experts. Keep up the good work! more
You hate the main character? Why bother wasting ur time? Much more uplifting listening to those that appreciate the hard work involved…
I’ve been searching for a podcast to fuel the flames of my love for Tolkien’s masterpiece, and I’m so glad I checked out The Council of Elrond. more
