  • To quote a Marillion tome ‘Less is more’

I used to be a purple but I got increasingly fed up with the mindless and ill prepared ramblings. This podcast is at its best when H is called upon to answer a real and proper serious question or address a theme in an album. H’s reflective, informative moods are superb, but guys if you have nothing to talk about maybe don’t do a podcast that week. The number of episodes of inane warbling led me to cancel my subscription some time back which is a shame, as I love H.

I’ve listened to Ant and H doing this podcast since the beginning.

It’s brilliant listening to the diaries and stories behind the music of Marillion .

The guests they get in too also are brilliant.

Charlie the bus driver was a classic need to get him back on

Ant and H let the banter flow between them at times it’s like 2 guys down the pub having a laugh .

Long may they continue with this podcast

Steve and Ant are the perfect remedy for the stressful commute! Silly enough to entertain with just the perfect sprinkling of information to make me a hit around the water cooler.

Episode 196. If it were up to me, Marillion would be more like Disney
Q: Did it make it easier to start to write those arrangements, having done the stuff for .com and having a knowledge of some of the personalities involved?
Yes, it definitely made it easier to start writing those arrangements, especially having had experience from previous projects.
Chapter 198. It isn't just gold, it's gold-plated gold.
Q: How big is the guest list for an average Marillion gig?
The guest list usually depends on where the family is and varies by location, with London being the busiest due to industry contacts.
Episode 204. It’s either a bearskin or really big hair.
Q: So what was on Marillion's radar for then? Was the album still on the radar, or was the album then a consequence of what happened next?
No, the album was absolutely on the radar and we got very lucky in the sense that an awful lot of our fellow artists had to cancel entire tours and lost loads of money as we had nothing booked.
Episode 204. It’s either a bearskin or really big hair.
Q: Have we talked about marbles then?
Yes, we did, everybody was in for that episode.
Chapter 210. Five, six, seven, eight.
Q: And how was the filming at O2 London? How was that?
Yeah, that was cool. We had to do it in a slightly different way because budgets have really been squeezed on filming big things like this.
