Waiting in the queue at to eat at Dishoom would be the perfect place to listen to this bumper episode about the Dishoom cookery book! As Dishoom is one of the most adored restaurants in the UK, we thought we'd tackle this beautiful cookbook (it's als... more
We're winding down the summer (yes, there is weather chat) with a book we've been so excited to feature - Table for Two. While neither of us quite manage that number for our tables, we still managed to cook lots and, uncharacteristically, have plenty... more
I’ve never been much of a chef, but this podcast has inspired me to broaden my horizons and experiment with recipes I otherwise wouldn’t have attempted. more
I think it’s meant to be banter and whilst I love a great chat between friends - but somewhere in the conversation they really sound like they are making fun of their subjects and having a laugh at them and not with them. more
Victoria and Hannah have created a great project to listen to. The concept is a good one - let’s road test cookbooks - and the thoughtfulness over how that is done is clear. I’ve got many great Christmas gift recommendations from the introductory chats to each episode. But the main thing is that our hosts are very amusing indeed. It’s the banter, jokes and relating of those parts of the recipes that didn’t work that makes this engaging and fun. I spend a lot of the listening time laughing out lo... more
Hannah and Victoria have a chatty and hilarious dynamic that sets this podcast apart, and they’re not afraid to share their honest opinions about the books (and authors) they are reviewing. I like that Hannah is a vegetarian (I’m not, but I don’t cook much meat), so there’s a perspective on veg-forward meals. They each cook from two or three recipes from their cookbook of choice, so listeners get a good idea of what does and doesn’t work. What else— love the ratings system. :)
Hannah and Victoria are excellent cooks and delightful podcasters. I enjoy listening to them natter on about cookbooks and cooking as only true obsessives can. And they’re funny, too! Give a listen, you’ll have a great time!
