  • I love the show!

I am originally from El Salvador. When I arrived in the US, my family was very fortunate to have a Cuban family embrace us as their own family. We were not only helped by Cubans with food and a house but with anything that we needed to live. We were emersed in the cubab culture from language, history, food and music. This podcast has highlighted many conversions I have had about their Cuban music. I thank you for your and documenting all these eposides.

Much success to your pod cast.

  • Informative and engaging

As an amateur musician and someone who has loved listening to salsa, I’ve long wanted to learn more about the roots of salsa and the history of Cuban music. So I was delighted to find this podcast! Rebecca strikes a great balance of social history and musical discussion. I find myself hearing more in the music and appreciating the history of how Cuban music came to be what it is. Highly recommend this podcast to folks interested in salsa, Afro-Caribbean music, and Latin American music.
