A celebration of video game soundtracks from every generation and the emotions we all have experienced through them. They can be beautiful, grandiose orchestras or intricately composed chip tunes. Either way, they help create the full experiences we have with games and should be honored. Mike and Jon are here to do just that.

Mike and Jesse examine the atmosphere of Hob, by Runic Games. Matt Uelmen strikes again with another intense and lush soundscape that feels more like meditation than music. BUT THAT'S GOOD!

You may have heard of him, perhaps not, but he is a composer from the early nineties. Most notably, he worked on the sci-fi title Cyberia, which is what brought him to Mike's attention at the ripe age of 10. Since then he has been bus... more
Both Mike and Jon have a passion for video game music and it’s abundantly clear. I enjoy discovering new soundtracks through them and hearing their opinions on some of my favorite old titles like Heroes of Might and Magic!
Also, their dedication to showing appreciation to the artists by giving album purchase information and contact info when possible is commendable. It really shows support for the artists.
As someone who enjoys music in cinema, iv never really considered how important music is across all entertainment/media platforms. Very thoughtful and mellow. Very in depth well paced with many many examples of music. I think I’m going to have to look for my “Killer Instinct” soundtrack from SNES, only available if you bought the killer instinct snes bundle.
Very cool and unique podcast! The host has an incredibly impressive depth of knowledge about the two things that come together in a special way in this podcast: video games and music. Great way to experience the music of some of your favorite games or to be exposed to new games for the first time. The production quality is solid and the preperation is very clear and yet the host does an excellent job of making it sound conversational and not scripted. Highly recommend!
It really shows that Mike has a passion for the music in the games we all grew up with. I appreciate his knowledgable analysis of the tracks that invoke such a visceral feeling. Looking forward to more!
Excellent commentary. The host’s love and familiarity of the game and it’s soundtrack is abundantly clear and lends its beautiful to the discussion. This episode had me wanting to set aside Elden Ring and replay Mega Man X for the millionth time!
