Bring Me the Axe is a comedy podcast celebrating the best (and worst) horror from a time when the video store ruled the night. Every other week, brothers Bryan and Dave White (and the occasional guest) heed the call of nostalgia and evaluate the classic 70s and 80s horror movies they loved in their childhood to determine whether the movies are still relevant today or should be allowed to fade into... more

  • Very Listenable

These brothers are film buffs for the kinds of movies I grew up with. Sci-Fi, Horror and Ninjas from the 80s video store. They each have varied knowledge about filmmaking and cinema history. A great listen and highly recommended.

  • Show some respect!

Love all of the content produced by these two. They could show a little more respect and be more complimentary to the snakes and insects, but I guess that’s ok. They manage to be incredibly entertaining and to create a much-needed sense of solidarity during these crazy times. Thanks!!

It is entertaining with its charm despite its low budget and absurd plot.
99CR 39: King of New York
Q: What are your thoughts on how Abel Ferrara depicts the crime in New York, especially in relation to its characters?
The depiction of crime is morally ambiguous; Ferrara works within a hyper-stylized aesthetic that raises questions about race and privilege without providing clear resolutions.

Q: So do you think the movie holds up?
It doesn't hold up as a traditional horror movie, but it does have fascinating themes and performances that intrigue.
99CR 12: Siege
Q: Why did you want to make the characters police officers?
To show that the uniform attracts people who are aggressive and who want to enact violence.
