  • Essential Listening

Bradcast and the Green News Report are factual, and packed with news others do not cover or contextualize. I never miss an episode. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants non corporate news especially election coverage. Bradcast helps me through difficult times with thoughtful analysis and snarky content! Thanks Brad and Desi for all the years of hard work and real talk, you’re the best!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

'BradCast' 6/4/2026 (J6er Says No to Trump's 'Weaponization' Slush Fund Money; Guest: Convicted Rioter Jason Riddle)
Q: Has Leaving MAGA been helpful for you, and could it serve as a model for others seeking to disengage from extremist movements?
Riddle describes Leaving MAGA as a supportive community similar to AA for sobriety, offering structure, weekly meetings, and a pathway away from political extremism, suggesting it could be valuable for others seeking an off-ramp.
'BradCast' 6/4/2026 (J6er Says No to Trump's 'Weaponization' Slush Fund Money; Guest: Convicted Rioter Jason Riddle)
Q: You went to DC knowing there was misinformation about the 2020 election. What was your mindset then, and what did you hope to see?
Riddle says he knew Trump was lying and that he still went down there hoping to witness something he believed would validate his beliefs, reflecting on the lure of mass movements and the impact of propaganda.
'BradCast' 6/4/2026 (J6er Says No to Trump's 'Weaponization' Slush Fund Money; Guest: Convicted Rioter Jason Riddle)
Q: But not all of the J-6ers are lining up in hopes of a payday. What are your thoughts on this and the possibility of compensation for rioters?
Riddle explains his position against compensation, emphasizing that he is not a victim and that paying rioters would be a mischaracterization of the events and their consequences, while also noting the complexity of the issue for families and the broader political debate.
'BradCast' 5/26/2026 (Encore: Trump Activist Judges Allow Ten Commandments in TX Classrooms, with Jay Willis of Balls and Strikes)
Q: What does originalism mean in this context and how is it being used in the Texas ruling?
Originalism is presented as a philosophy that interprets the Constitution as the framers would have understood it, but Willis argues it's used as a political tool to justify outcomes favorable to conservative policy goals, effectively narrowing the Establishment Clause to permit state-religion accommodations.
'BradCast' 5/27/2026 (Encore: Trump's $1.8 Billion DOJ-Facilitated Taxpayer Heist, with Robert Weissman of Public Citizen)
Q: What kind of investigation can Public Citizen realistically pursue right now to shed light on this?
Public Citizen is seeking expedited public records, pushing for court review where possible, and preparing to sue to obtain documents that explain the settlement's terms, the claims process, and who sits on the decision-making body—essentially aiming to determine if the fund is being used for personal gain or political favors and how to legally block or constrain it.
