Bradcast and the Green News Report are factual, and packed with news others do not cover or contextualize. I never miss an episode. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants non corporate news especially election coverage. Bradcast helps me through difficult times with thoughtful analysis and snarky content! Thanks Brad and Desi for all the years of hard work and real talk, you’re the best!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

'BradCast' 8/31/2026 (Encore: Is the Zombie Myth that Repubs are Better than Dems on the Economy Finally Dead?; Guest: Michael Tomasky of The New Republic)
Q: Michael, how would you summarize the core reasons the GOP is seen as better on the economy, despite the data?
Tomasky points to big business affiliation, right-wing media amplification, and the labor vs. capital dynamic as the structural reasons people perceive Republicans as stronger on the economy, and argues Democrats must counter with clear, numbers-backed messaging.
'BradCast' 9/3/2026 (Encore: National Debt Tops $40 Trillion; Guest: Former WH economist Bobby Kogan)
Q: Is this $40 trillion landmark making headlines everywhere today?
Bobby explains that while the headline number is attention-grabbing, the more important metric is the debt-to-GDP ratio and the trajectory of deficits, which are influenced by tax policy and interest rates.
'BradCast' 9/1/2026 (Encore: Thom Hartmann on the Fourth Rise of U.S. Oligarchy and the 2026 Election That Could Begin to End It)
Q: Tell me about that and about what happened to those oligarchs both during and after the colonies defeated England.
Hartmann describes the late 18th century shift where the British East India Company's power prompted a popular revolt against corporate control, ultimately leading to American independence and a reconfiguration of economic power.
'BradCast' 8/25/2026 (About that Corrupt SCOTUS Ruling on Trump's Election Order; Guest: Former U.S. Dept. Asst. AG Justin Levitt)
Q: What are your thoughts on the Census Bureau report about non-citizen voting and its relevance to the 2026 election?
The report is deeply flawed, uncredited, and misrepresents what the data could show; even if some numbers were accurate, they would not flip the election results, and the whole exercise underscores why trusted sources and sound methodology matter in public discourse about voting.
'BradCast' 8/25/2026 (About that Corrupt SCOTUS Ruling on Trump's Election Order; Guest: Former U.S. Dept. Asst. AG Justin Levitt)
Q: You've said off-air that the federal government isn't the primary actor in running elections. How does this shift in the Court's approach change expectations for voters this fall?
The practical running of elections will largely remain in the hands of state and local officials; federal power is limited, and voters should focus on how to engage with local processes rather than expecting sweeping federal actions to keep everything perfectly aligned.
