From the opening seconds when you are blasted with booming bass, electric guitar, rock radio style intro, to the main host using that fake, bombastic, “radio guy” voice that is typically reserved for talk radio, game shows, and used car commercials, and throw... more

Q: How did you design the camera language to mirror Ellie's fractured perception and the growing claustrophobia?
He discusses storyboard-driven planning with his cinematographer, intentionally destabilizing framing, using dynamic opening sequences, and gradually increasing claustrophobic camera moves to align with Ellie's mental state.
EP#471 - Curry Barker (Obsession)
Q: How did Barker approach audience feedback and reactions, given the rapid online buzz around Obsession?
He leveraged early screenings to calibrate the film's pace and tone, while ensuring the core relationship and cinematic experience remained intact, balancing online buzz with the movie's narrative integrity.
EP#471 - Curry Barker (Obsession)
Q: What was it like collaborating with Cooper Tomlinson and maintaining a shared vision across a demanding project?
Having Cooper as a grounding presence allows a blunt, efficient workflow where ideas can be tested quickly, and there's a shorthand that keeps collaboration productive and focused, helping navigate big expectations.
EP#466 - Lauren LaVera & Darren Lynn Bousman (Twisted)
Q: Lauren, what do you feel about how they wrote your character?
I felt this immense humor coming off of Paloma. It was a thrilling challenge to portray her wit and mischievousness.
EP#466 - Lauren LaVera & Darren Lynn Bousman (Twisted)
Q: Darren, what would you say hit you first artistically or even just like a human when you got a chance to meet her for the first time?
I found it very lucky to work with someone I admire, and I've been fortunate to work with people I'm genuinely a fan of throughout my career.
