  • Always enjoy listening.

I live 800 miles from downstate IL where I grew up, and always enjoy listening to KTRS on the app. The podcasts are great for those times when I can't listen in realtime. I especially enjoy Jennifer and Wendy, John, Julie and Max, and Heidi, Josh and Kristen. Y'all bring me just a little bit closer to home.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

BIG SPORTS SHOW ELI DRINKWITZ 4.1.26
Q: Was naming Austin Simmons as the starter your intention, or did it happen unexpectedly as spring drills progressed?
It wasn't my intention to rush the decision; after evaluating all quarterbacks through the spring and during critical situational drills, it became clear that Austin Simmons was ready to lead, and we communicated that to the team to foster trust and forward momentum.

Q: What makes Citywide's collaboration with Forehands and other local brands significant for the community?
The collaborations amplify local sponsorships and philanthropic efforts, bringing together multiple area businesses to support community nonprofits while driving regional visibility for both Forehands and its partners.
The Frank and Jill Show 4-1-26: Sarah Fenske - Back to the Feature "Fargo"
Q: Would Fargo be a Best Picture favorite in today's Academy?
The discussion suggests that in the current landscape, Fargo's compact, relentlessly well-crafted storytelling would still be highly competitive, potentially winning Best Picture if released under contemporary industry dynamics.
The Frank and Jill Show 4-1-26: Sarah Fenske - Back to the Feature "Fargo"
Q: How did McDormand's pregnancy influence the character of Marge Gunderson and the film's dynamics?
Her pregnancy added depth and tenderness to the otherwise tense narrative, offering a counterpoint to the violence and reinforcing the film's humanity through Marge's grounded, compassionate policing style.
The Frank and Jill Show 4-1-26: Sarah Fenske - Back to the Feature "Fargo"
Q: What makes Fargo stand out as a black comedy and why did it resonate at the time?
The guests agree that the film's tight screenplay, memorable performances (notably Frances McDormand and William H. Macy), novel dark humor, and the Coen brothers' distinctive tonal balance between comedy and crime created a fresh, influential take on the genre that still feels innovative today.
