  • Review on Episode: Goliath was Not a philistine

I just wanted to mention that, while it’s possible Goliath was descended from the Anakim, the text in 1 Samuel repeatedly calls Goliath a Philistine, including Goliath himself: 1 Samuel 17:8, 10, 11, etc.

Maybe I misunderstood the point of the episode and you just were pointing out where Goliath’s ancestry may have been from, but God’s Word explicitly calls Goliath a Philistine, and God doesn’t make mistakes or misspeak.

Feel free to clarify if I misunderstood your episode.

  • My favourite podcast

Such an awesome podcast. Every episode is deep and thoughtful. It makes you love God’s word more and more. I love how logical Peter is; in a world where truth is meaningless or at best relative, Peter’s consistent logical reasoning is so refreshing.

The New Testament Autographs (How We Got the New Testament) - Part 1 (Ep 207)
Q: Where should we start in thinking about how we got our New Testament?
We would recommend starting at the very beginning, looking at the original manuscripts and the Greco-Roman context in which they were composed.
The New Testament Manuscripts (How We Got the New Testament) - Part 3 (Ep 208)
Q: Could you speak a little bit about the financial cost too that was involved with a lot of these communities?
The financial burden comes more into play for the Christian communities in the first few centuries, because papyrus was not that expensive, but there was some cost involved.
Vintage Clip: What is the Relationship between Revelation 19 and 20?
Q: Can you give maybe like a few reasons as to how people often try to view Revelation 20 as kind of recapitulation, but your counterarguments or why we should view it as chronological sequence?
People argue for recapitulation by suggesting that chapter 20 reflects back to the present age, but evidence in the text supports a sequential relationship, indicating historical progression from chapter 19 to 20.
Vintage Clip: What is the Relationship between Revelation 19 and 20?
Q: Can you just explain a little bit why you say that and why that relationship between 19 and 20 is so crucial?
The relationship is crucial because it determines how one understands the timing of the millennium in relation to the second coming of Christ, situated between chapters 19 and 20.
A Better Understanding of This Generation in Matthew 24:34 with Ryan Meyer (Ep 204)
Q: Why should people care about Matthew 24:34?
This verse has implications for our understanding of prophecy and how scripture relates to both first-century audiences and today's believers.
