Great review of some of television's most iconic programs with a personal perspective from each of the hosts best known for their work on Welcome to Nightvale. Most enjoyable.
This is a fun angle on media analysis & refreshing in a sea of straight rewatch podcasts- I was surprised by how much I enjoyed episodes about shows I never actually watched or watched quite minimally.
I hesitate to suggest Gilmore Girls for analysis because it doesn’t seem like the type of media that would appeal to this team, but I do think it could be interesting & I believe it fits the bill!
It’s a fun show that attempts to revisit TV history and explain what did and didn’t work in long running shows. I really like the intermission review of the theme songs, especially the Cheers episode. I would love more of this kind of in depth research on each of the shows and episodes discussed. I appreciate Meg’s connection to the shows and her reflection on what they meant to her then vs how it feels watching them now. Some shows I’d love to hear discussed are The Good Wife, Fresh Prince of B... more
I don’t like / didn’t grow up watching every show reviewed so far, but every one so far has been majorly bummed out for me with Joseph’s general pretentiousness around not liking or watching a series. It’s a good formula as a show and I enjoy some of the banter, but then it’s like someone who always has to one up a story just being generally negative for the reason of being different rather than actually contributing a critique. Kinda a bummer every time
