I’ve been listening to these guys for decades through several iterations and I’m thrilled to see that they are still doing it. Listening to BSS is my World Cup tradition and their knowledge and accessibility is at least partially responsible for my ongoing love for our underdogs. Unapologetically American, without rose tinted goggles, this is how Americans should talk about this great sport.

  • Best American Based Footy Show

Jason makes podcasting look easy. Not only is the program informative, but it is also fun and not too serious. I appreciate segments like ranking and what if scenarios along with the guests brought on for perspective.

USMNT THROUGH TO ROUND OF 16: Review & Preview With Ryan Rosenblatt
Q: How has Pochettino changed the team's approach compared with Berhalter's era?
Pochettino built a foundation and a single attacking philosophy, then allowed players to exploit spaces in a way that preserves shape; this contrasts with earlier over-engineered attempts and relies more on natural athleticism and coordinated movement.
USMNT THROUGH TO ROUND OF 16: Review & Preview With Ryan Rosenblatt
Q: What did you think of Balogun last night and how critical is his absence for the Round of 16?
Balogun was very good, arguably the best attacker on the night; his absence will be felt, and the team will need to adjust by utilizing Tillman or other attackers to maintain balance while preserving the overall system under Pochettino.
Shawn Francis Talks About The World Cup
Q: Let me come back to the World Cup. With the event here in the US, how are you planning to engage with it this summer?
The plan is to engage like we always do, but with a sharper focus on everyday fans and creators. We'll follow the tournament through local communities, highlight diverse fan experiences, and leverage Copa90's creator network to tell stories from markets big and small, not just the stadiums.
Rapid USMNT Roster Reaction With Jonathan Tannenwald
Q: What does this mean for Polisic and Weston McKennie's responsibilities if those are the guys on the field?
The discussion suggests Polisic and McKennie may need to adapt to complementary roles, with a designated creator (likely Tilman or Roldan) needed to link play and support Polisic, while McKennie benefits from someone else providing the advanced creativity.
TBSS Q&A Special: MLS Cup Playoffs, USMNT, And Blind Ranking American Soccer Stadiums
Q: Is there any player who hasn't featured heavily or at all under Poach that you'd be happily surprised to see on the World Cup roster?
The speakers discuss various players, including Jackson Reagan and Mauricio Cuevas, noting their potential and past performances.
