Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Will The British Wolf Return? ft Derek Gow #187
Q: What factors would most influence the government to consider reintroducing wolves in the UK?
Political will is central, but practical factors like fence efficacy, compensation schemes, public education, and long-term landscape management would determine feasibility; there's skepticism about government action but potential support if benefits are clear and risks managed.
Will The British Wolf Return? ft Derek Gow #187
Q: Do you think this is truth or do you think there's some embellishment in there?
Embellishment exists in some wolf legends; many stories likely blend myth with real encounters, but overall the trend is that wolves may have appeared in various forms or as dog-wolf hybrids rather than pure wolves in some British accounts.
Life as a Taxidermist ft Sarah Burhouse #184
Q: How did you get into taxidermy and end up at Woolerton Hall?
Sarah describes studying zoology, realizing she wasn't strong at identification, volunteering with wildlife groups, falling in love with natural history museum displays, and ultimately joining Woolerton Hall where she could pursue bird-focused taxidermy in a museum setting.
Why People Fear Snakes? ft Ellie Bee #177
Q: What got you into snakes and what's your background?
Growing up around snakes thanks to my dad, I became involved early on, helping with sheds and care, and Steve Irwin inspired my drive to raise awareness about rescue and habitat needs.
Why People Fear Snakes? ft Ellie Bee #177
Q: Before we start, do you want to just kind of say who you are and what you do?
I'm Ellie. I'm the Serpent Queen, rescuing and rehoming snakes, lizards, and other reptiles, with a focus on helping animals that aren't wanted and getting them to proper homes.
