It’s an action, a process, a series of micro-corrections that we make, each a... more

  • Amazing Resource

Sometimes parenting resources make us feel worse about ourselves as parents, but NOT THIS ONE. Lots of practical tools that have allowed me to connect with both my nuerodiverse child and my neurotypical child in ways we all feel good about.

245: Practical Strategies for Parenting Sensitive Kids With Empathy and Patience with Irene Biscante
Q: At what point do we know we might need some coaching, our kid might need some support? How do we know we're at that place?
Persistent behavioral challenges impacting school and home might indicate the need for professional support. Early intervention can help to equip parents and children with skills to manage behaviors effectively.
244: Parenting With Presence and Breaking Cycles with Lauren Sisler

Q: What wisdom do you have for those of us who may be reluctant to share a story or maybe skeptical that sharing our stories could possibly help?
It's important to validate that it's not easy to share stories, and while remarks may seem simple, actual storytelling can be complex and requires deep reflection. However, many have found understanding and movement forward through shared experiences.
240: Helping Highly Sensitive Kids Thrive Emotionally and Socially with Dr. Judith Orloff
Q: What are some of the struggles or challenges that these kids face in a world that maybe isn't built for them?
They are often misunderstood and may be misdiagnosed in mental health settings, leading to inappropriate treatments instead of learning how to navigate their sensitivity in a supportive environment.
