  • Podcast getting worse by the episode

Saying things like “for the 4 year olds listening…” and then trying to describe something in simpler terms is just not a way to make people want to keep listening to this podcast. Being condescending is not a good quality to have and it is not a way to grow your podcast.

  • More like Astrophysicists Podcast

The title and descriptions are a bit misleading, they are interviewers about the Scientists not a discussion about their work and topics about astrophysics.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Dr. Merel van 't Hoff -- The Birth of the Planets
Q: Why should we care about astrophysics?
It's something that can connect across differences and influences us all; we can all see the night sky.
Dr. Merel van 't Hoff -- The Birth of the Planets
Q: So what do you like the most about your job?
I like the actual research, and also working with students and seeing them get enthusiastic about these topics.
Dr. Abigail Polin -- Astrophysics Q & A
Q: What are the biggest challenges facing astrophysics today?
Lack of funding is a big impediment. I would also say self-doubt can impact research negatively.
Dr. Abigail Polin -- Astrophysics Q & A
Q: What makes astrophysics different from astronomy?
Astrophysics generally refers to theoretical work and models, while astronomy is often associated with observational work, but the terms have become interchangeable.
Dr. Abigail Polin -- Astrophysics Q & A
Q: How far is the farthest star and back?
There's no furthest star; however, the observable universe limits it to about 14 billion light-years. The round trip means at least 28 billion light years due to the universe's expansion.
