Every day, we read something new about Artificial Intelligence - it'll take our jobs, it'll teach our kids, it knows more about us than we do ourselves... but how much of that is hype, and how much is, or will be reality? Part of our problem with AI is that it feels impenetrable and mysterious, especially when even those building it aren't entirely sure how it works. In a new series, Aleks Krotosk... more

Expert opinions and conversational unpicking of information is what Alex and Kevin do so well. I particularly enjoyed this episode’s closing comment that our digital devices treat us as tamagotchis !
It’s a shame these charming and intelligent hosts keep conflating overrated autocomplete (LLMs) and actual ‘artificial intelligence’, and discussing them as if they have the same impact and importance. (It’s not clear the hosts know the difference either.) The show is a real missed opportunity to explain that to listeners. This is welcome, fresh, accessible and important. There is a risk however that ‘AI’ replaces ‘Digital’ which would be an unfortunate win for Sales and Marketing (ban them!) and confuse the digital space wrongly. Please also keep The Digital Human as well. Of course, everything from Aleks Krotoski is necessary listening. Thank you always for waking me up!
There is nothing artificial about Aleks Krotoski! She presents far reaching and important topics in an enjoyable easy to understand way that makes you think.
