For Ball Knowing. For years I thought Cody Alexander was JUST talking defense and just about one kind of defense. His book "matchquarters" IS but the substack, YouTube channel, and this podcast are wayy more. Yes he prefers pattern matching zone, for good reason. If you only have time for one weekly football podcast, this is the one to listen to. The hosts know way more ball than the others and communicate this in a listenable, straightforward manner.
I absolutely love both MatchQuarters and Let’s Talk Ball. Both will help you understand the defensive side of current football much better. Awesome,Informative, often funny and always a pleasure to listen to. Go Steelers
I know the host is a football junkie and the content is great but one piece of advice. You don’t need to interrupt your guest’s answers every 30 seconds layering in “right” or “yeah”. It’s annoying and distracting. Let your guest answer the question. Please! To get a 5 star review it’s simple: shut up and respect the guest’s answer. You don’t add value constantly interrupting them.
