Emily has such a natural, attuned way of stepping into the world of the artists she’s interviewing. It’s an intimate, fly-on-the-wall conversation that stays intellectual yet personable. I love the diverse range of artists, their practices, perspectives, and mediums. Highly recommend.
Strangely, a pretty good interviewer of men. But when it comes to women, seems to be trying hard to make friends with them by oversharing and seemingly wanting desperately to get into their social scene. (See Robin Williams or Jenna Gribbon) Despite having some interesting female artists, I had to turn off the interviews at a certain point. Maybe it’s an NY striver thing, but it feels shamefully self interested. Be interested in the guests, not yourself.
I am thoroughly enjoying this podcast as I reconnect to my identity as Artist. There are talks with all different people within and out of the art world that all connect to the act of being a creator. I’m so happy to be a listener now, and I recommend anyone who creates (which is in all of us) to listen.
As a fellow professional in the art world, it is refreshing to hear the insights offered by artists and art world thought leaders who, if only for the duration of this podcast, open their world to us to better understand who they are, what drives them, and how art is a catalyst for progess in their lives.

I wanted to hear this interview so badly but I found the host talked over her a lot and I found more about the podcasters life than Jemima. I felt like the podcaster just wanted to share her life when I’m not here for that. I wonder if it was annoying for Jemima too. Something to think about for future interviews.
