How quickly you are transported to a world where the three minute warning was an active choice, where techno drum beat ruled, where we still thought everything was a choice of black and white. This is a beautiful capture of how we are all still human, making decisions for the best we can for the sake of the next generation. A story of the tender hopes we all share. Oh, and the banging soundtrack and disguises. Blown away and overcome. When spying was up close and personal.
Wow, thanks to this show, my love for “The Americans” has only deepened! What a treat.
If you are curious about Russia and America and [ UkraineWTF]… this is fascinating. Just finished watching it for the third time. I remember the late 80s/ I’ll stop there. I think Renee worked for the Agency/ as we learned from 9/11 the FBI and CIA didn’t trust each other nor do they com·mu·ni·cate well. Whatever, it is an incredible bit of work that never got the praise it deserved. From writing to acting it is IMHO one of the best.
We’re very late to the party but just finished the Americans - we loved it and it was great to still have all these interviews and reflections to listen to :)
If only I’d caught onto this tv show earlier. But now I’ve binged all 6 seasons it’s fascinating to listen to a more in depth discussion of the show’s making. Really enjoying the behind the scenes discussions from the cast crew and makers. Great stuff!
