I like the short format. It makes it easier to listen to at work in between tasks. I do feel like every episode was just a plug for PACE or APC with just a little bit of helpful information. I would like to see less info on PACE and APC and more info that is helpful for most admins without asking them to spend more. This could be a great resource for those who can’t get APC approved at their organization.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How to Design Information for Impact
Q: How should one balance detail with clarity when presenting to senior stakeholders or executives?
Focus on a hierarchy of impact: ensure the slide is functional, reliable, and useful first, then make it convenient and enjoyable, and only occasionally aim for high-impact, personally meaningful moments. Frame feedback as a collaborative effort to improve reach and impact, and offer appendices or handouts for additional detail without cluttering the main deck.
How to Design Information for Impact
Q: What are the biggest mistakes you see in slide deck designs that hinder clarity and impact?
The main issue is trying to pack too much information into a slide and into the whole deck, resulting in cluttered visuals, overwhelming details, and a distraction from the core message. Keeping three to five key points, structuring content clearly, and using simple visuals helps maintain audience focus and improves retention.
How to Start Using Microsoft AI
Q: What good ways are there to introduce these tools to leadership and demonstrate real benefits?
A phased approach is recommended: start with a small pilot using a manageable number of licenses, gather concrete feedback from early users, demonstrate measurable time savings and productivity gains, and then gradually roll out more broadly once value is clear and governance is in place.
How to Lead with Change Management
Q: What's the best way to influence people who resist change?
Peer support is key: connect those in resistance with peers who have moved through the change, facilitate knowledge sharing, and provide practical resources to reduce the learning curve.
What Executives Are Looking For
Q: Okay, but what does strategic partnership mean in day-to-day work?
A true partnership means both people actively participate in shaping strategy, offering input, and taking initiative rather than remaining passive or waiting for direction.
