  • You’re Ready

Ego, you are scared but you are ready. Have that baby. Don’t wait too long. You don’t want to be going through menopause when your kid hits puberty

  • Missing the dad premise!!!

This podcast came out of the year that my dad died very unexpectedly. I love Ego a lot, and this podcast brought me a lot of comfort and joy when I really needed to unpack my complicated feelings about my dad. Season two seems to have done away with the entire Thanks Dad premise entirely. I understand, expanding the guest list to not include only dads. But I really miss the conversation with each guest about their relationship with their dad and its impact as the heart of the podcast now it’s tr... more

  • What happened to the dads!!!

Hey Ego so glad you brought the podcast back for season 2 and I’m going to miss you on SNL. I listened to the first episode with Heidi and was entertained but also confused.Season 1 you had celebrity dads come on and tell their journey into fatherhood and their relationships with their dad. As a new dad I loved it the premise and listened faithfully every Monday. But season 2 I guess you are getting more into people you are thankful for? Anyways really liked the old format and thought it was uni... more

Re-Release: Randall Park
Q: Did you feel your parents wanted you to take a more traditional path, and how did you navigate pursuing acting?
He recalls that his parents expected more conventional careers (doctor, lawyer, engineer) and initially resisted his acting. He eventually carved a path by being discreet about it, seeking early support from teachers and mentors, and later earning validation through success.
Re-Release: Randall Park
Q: What was your dad like?
Randall describes his dad as a stoic, hardworking man who loved his family deeply but did not express it in words; affection was shown through actions and sacrifice rather than overt conversation.
Atsuko Okatsuka
Q: How do you talk about disagreements with a partner who has strong political views without ending a relationship?
Atsuko suggests focusing on shared humanity, acknowledge differences, and prioritize communication and empathy over trying to change the other person; she emphasizes the importance of seeking mutual understanding and preserving care.
D'Arcy Carden
Q: What tips can you give for gracefully exiting conversations at the dog park?
Use practical tricks like wearing big headphones to signal you're not open to chatting, or be direct but polite about needing space, and consider a light, friendly exit line to keep things smooth.
William H. Macy
Q: What did you do to make auditioning fun for you?
Towards the end of auditioning, I started looking at it as this is what I'm going to do. If that's not right for you, don't hire me. This is my performance, and I think this is what the scene is about.
