  • Love This So Funny!

Just started listening from the beginning and already love it have had 2 neglected holes in my head from Thirst Aid Kit that now has been filled. Just started from the beginning & was listening to the episode from June of 2019 and Nicole eerily says that she thought 2020 was going to be great for her and a lot of other people and I audibly laughed said “Ooooh No future Nicole is going to be so disappointed in at least part of that statement!”

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Nicole Hates Mondays
Q: Am I overthinking this or is this reflection on dating dynamics with a friend's lookalike okay?
The hosts suggest it's normal to notice similarities and that there isn't an inherent problem with dating someone who resembles a close friend; they recommend focusing on genuine connection and not overanalyzing the resemblance.
Sasheer Waited For The Sunrise
Q: How do you cope with intense public moments or anxiety in daily life while balancing personal goals?
Lean on routines like therapy, journaling, and small daily actions; confirm that small, consistent steps (sunlight, movement, lists) can improve mental health and productivity over time.
Sasheer Waited For The Sunrise
Q: A friend cancels plans frequently; how should I handle it without harming the friendship?
Communicate how cancellations make you feel, emphasize that you value time together, and suggest planning options that are low-stakes or low-cost; focus on maintaining the friendship while setting boundaries about availability.
Sasheer Waited For The Sunrise
Q: My friend Brenda has become very emotional and is causing tension in the group; should I feel guilty about addressing the issue with her?
Be honest and considerate: you spoke up with the group's concerns, which can be constructive even if it leads Brenda to step back; it's about finding what works for everyone, and it's okay if Brenda leaves the group if that's what's best for the dynamic.
Nicole Has A Nut Stash
Q: Hi, Nicole and Sasheer. My roommate, who is also my best friend, has a one-sided communication style that makes me feel unheard and overwhelmed. How should I address this while we're living together?
Acknowledge your feelings and set a specific, concrete topic to address. Suggest a time to talk when you're both calm, and frame it as a mutual issue rather than a blame session. Consider using 'pin-and-return' tactics to revisit topics later, so you're not monopolizing the conversation and both get space to be heard.
