Two movies about protagonists who are dismissed based on stereotypes and whose longing for respectability does them a disservice — It's The Godfather, Part II vs. Legally Blonde.
Two films that explore the class divide as someone poor infiltrates the world of the rich and we discover the grass isn't always greener — it's Parasite vs. It Takes Two (yes, the Olsen twins one!!!)
Two dystopian futures buried in dust, where our heroes have to choose between what they want and what everyone needs — it's Interstellar vs. Idiocracy.

Emily really sees things with a perspective that is analytical but uplifting. I always come away with a different read of a film, and it’s evident that she loves movies
Honest, fun and insightful review pod that’s mad me look at movies differently
If most non-American actors’ names are not mispronounced I would pay to listen to this show but at the moment it is too distracting
Emily is a fantastic storyteller and writer. It’s fast paced, never losing my attention. She’s very funny and understands movies on a deep level, she notices things about films that I thought I was the only one who noticed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Emily is great. She gives a perspective that us everyday people think of these movies. She doesn’t pander to the high grossing, Oscar winning, artsy films just because that is what she is suppose to do. I have been introduced to movies that I didn’t even know were out there and enjoyed them. Keep up the good work Emily.

A show that pairs highly acclaimed films with lesser-known or overlooked titles to explore shared themes, often focusing on social class, ambition, and gender dynamics. Episodes blend plot breaks, character analysis, production trivia, and thoughtful reflections on representation and accessibility, with a recurring emphasis on how familiar tropes play out across different eras and genres. A notable distinction is the Strong Female Leads series, which features conversations with actresses and creators who inspired the show, adding depth to discussions about female power, agency, and storytelling in cinema.
