  • Disappointed

I’ve been a huge fan of Iliza for YEARS. paid for meet and greets, signed books and posters, listened RELIGIOUSLY to every comedy special and podcast but I’ve hit my breaking point. She seems to be going down a right wing pipeline with her comments about Charlie Kirk and Israel. She’s entitled to her opinions but I would rather not be called an idiot or paid actor for being critical of Israel’s far right leadership. I hope the money from Israel is worth it and you’re not just doing this for love... more

  • I have been a longtime fan of Iliza as a comic since War Paint and had no idea until last year that she had a podcast. I have been binging it since. I absolutely love this format. Some questions are funny, some are serious, but Iliza knocks them all outta the park. I also love the dynamic btw Iliza and Emily! Hot Scotty crushes it with the comedic relief in audio editing too. I absolutely love driving to work and cracking up over AIA!!

  • Like the show but not the direction it’s going…

Have been enjoying the show for some years now because of the Iliza/Emily combo. (Yes I do enjoy hearing about the cats.)

Some current trends: I like podcasts because they DON’T contain visual content. Don’t care if my hosts have perfect hair—just want to hear them.

Iliza is moving this to a more video program—may work out well, but not my taste.

More importantly, very disturbed by Iliza confounding any criticism of the policies of the state of Israel ( and its authoritarian lea... more

  • I can’t anymore with the anti-Palestenian views.

Iliza broadly speaking about how most protesters that are speaking against the genocide in Palestine are only doing so because they are anti-Semitic or being paid…? is such ironic nonesense. Also her “centrist”views but somehow always speaking down on leftist while giving grace to conservatives is so off putting.

  • Following Iliza’s advice

I’ve decided to follow Iliza’s advice and finally say something and stand firm in it. I put up with her increasing dislike of liberals for awhile. It’s fine. I don’t identify as a liberal but I’ve heard it all before and the other content was good enough for it to overshadow the political jabs. The truth is though, I shouldn’t have ever listened after hearing all her dog whistles of white supremacy. Cool, you don’t like my hair type, skin color, my nose, my hips. Constantly saying for years that... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

We Both Love The Name Hannibal
Q: What should we do about naming a twin boy Hannibal given the negative associations and potential for bullying?
Ultimately, don't name the child Hannibal; the hosts agree the negative connotations and risk of bullying outweigh the pop culture charm, and suggest using Hannibal for a pet name or choosing a different name entirely, perhaps keeping Hannibal as a unique middle or nickname.
Graphic Communication
Q: Should I have my uncle start with me and hand me off to my adoptive dad, or should I have them both walk me?
Choose the option that feels most emotionally honest and least disruptive to family dynamics, with the consideration that the moment will be meaningful regardless of the exact arrangement; the path of least resistance often yields the most peace of mind for the individual getting married.
Low Lift, Low Bun
Q: Becky shares a fear of flying and travel anxiety affecting life and a relationship. How can she address this without letting it derail opportunities?
Explore therapy options like CBT to address underlying control or anxiety issues, test small, manageable trips, and keep dialogue open with her partner about balancing shared experiences with personal comfort.
Low Lift, Low Bun
Q: Am I crazy? We discovered mice in our basement and my husband wants to handle it humanely but without much research or effort. What should I do?
Keep clear lines of responsibilities and consider hiring a pro if safety and construction concerns exist; prioritize effective extermination and communication in the relationship, and push for a plan that protects your home while addressing your partner's concerns.
Don't Google BTK
Q: How do I approach mending family dynamics for my children's sake?
Extend the olive branch to start fresh, but recognize that the type of grandparents they are may not be within your control.
