I love this podcast! I tune in weekly to hear Jamie, Nikisha and Brian deep dive into the latest (and throwback) horror movies. It fuses my interests of psychology and horror perfectly. The format is great (overview, suggestions of other similar movies, how scary it is, etc.) and I always learn something new and get a fresh perspective. Always excited when a new episode drops, and wait to listen until I’ve seen the movie/show they’re covering!
Excellent discussions and coverage of movies and shows. I really enjoy the conversations and psychological examinations. But the audio is SUPER distracting. In your Stranger Things coverage, you can hear someone loudly sniffling into the mic literally the entire time. I understand that as podcasters, sometimes we need to record when sick or not at our best - but there are many casts where there is a lot of coughing, sniffing, etc. Please either learn to turn away from your mic if that's goi... more
This podcast is so fun! Nikisha, Jamie, and Bryan are hilarious! They each have unique worldviews that make the discussions really engaging. The psychological aspect of this podcast is a great reminder why the genre of horror is important to cinema! I’ve been introduced to several new films that I probably wouldn’t have heard of if it wasn’t for this podcast. Big fan! Give them a listen!
Update: STILL loving this podcast!! My favorite show of the week!! This has quickly become my favorite podcast. The 3 hosts have great chemistry. They give in-depth analysis. I look forward to them every week and often go back and re-listen!
Every time I come to visit the Talking Horror Pod I learn so much. Not only are Nikisha and Bryan such well versed horror fans and thoughtful reviewers, but Jamie with the mental health perspective of a therapist puts this pod above the rest. Just one of these three hosting a podcast about horror movies would be a treat but with their powers combined they are CAPTAIN PLANET- er I mean they’re AWESOME! Seriously one of the most unique movie review shows out there. Highly recommend.
