  • Great group of guys!

I only started listening to this show from ep #000 around a month and a half ago, and i'm almost up to date. This is a great podcast with interesting conversation and debate. I didn't know the first thing about drupal when I first found the show, but as all the host's tend to keep the new user in mind its really easy to follow. Now im current building a few small projects, also experimenting with D8. Using a lot of the resources recommended on the show. Thanks a lot guys... Keep up the great wor... more

  • Practical and useful information

This podcast is a lot like the original Lullabot podcast from way back when that gave really practical and useful information. Was a pleasure to meet all the TD folks at NEWDCamp, reconnect with Jason and meet his wife Ellen. I have been working with Drupal since 4.7 and NEWDCamp got me re-charged about it.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while. Talking Drupal is the best podcast I have found on the subject of Drupal. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Talking Drupal #563 - Drupito: More Than a Marketplace
Q: Can you explain the niche derivative site concept and how pricing would work across derivative layers?
Niche derivative sites allow code base maintainers to tailor a base template for specific niches (like gyms or HOA management), adding incremental price layers on top of the base code price; Drupito handles the percentage shares and ensures maintainable revenue for code base maintainers, derivative builders, and agencies.
Talking Drupal #563 - Drupito: More Than a Marketplace
Q: How does Drupito relate to the Drupal Marketplace, and is it competing or complementary?
Drupito sees itself as complementary, offering a broader engine for hosting, maintenance, and sale of derivative sites, potentially collaborating with the official Drupal Marketplace while allowing code bases to be exported and managed in a multi-tenant way.
Talking Drupal #563 - Drupito: More Than a Marketplace
Q: All right, Ashraf, let's get to our main topic of the week. What problem are you trying to solve with Drupito?
Drupito aims to solve the monetization and sustainability problem for open source by providing a platform that can host, provision, and manage Drupal-based sites, with a marketplace that supports exportable code bases, long-term maintenance incentives, and a pathway for new users to enter Drupal through templates and derivative sites.
TD Cafe #018 - Drupal Site Templates
Q: How important is AI in your ongoing template development and maintenance?
AI acts as a checkpoint and automation aid, helping scaffold tests, create merge requests, and diagnose cross-repo fixes, while human expertise remains essential for final quality and shipping decisions.
TD Cafe #018 - Drupal Site Templates
Q: What role do patterns play in making Drupal sites more usable for non-developers?
Patterns package common sets of components into reusable blocks, making it easier for marketers to assemble pages without deep technical knowledge while maintaining design consistency across sites.
