I lost my mom to breast cancer when I was 13, and I spent years moving forward with a composed exterior, using ambition and routine as coping mechanisms. Over time I've learned that grief is not something you simply overcome, but something you learn to live with, and I've found ways to honor her while still pursuing my dreams.
