I love this podcast, not just for the nuggets of useful info on voice acting work, but mainly for the surprising, hilarious and moving stories about real people. I think voice actors are often a quite quirky group - don’t take themselves to seriously, a bit renegade, and used to grafting in various ‘portfolio’ jobs - so to hear about their lives is often fascinating, especially when you then compare that to their smooth honeyed tones. As someone who works in radio, I had a listen to this as a bit of an anorak. I was expecting to nod along in recognition at anecdotes about mic technique, or editing mishaps.
However - and thankfully - each guest brings so much more than that. Each episode is a life story from a fascinating person, who just happens to be a VO.
I have laughed aloud and, in a few cases, found myself with my mouth open wide at the stories - both sad and wonderful.
